THE MENNONITES:
A Pictorial History of Their Lives in Canada.
Douglas & McIntyre, Toronto/Vancouver. 1990
Andreas Schroeder, an ethnic Mennonite himself,
chronicles the history of the Mennonite community in Canada in photographs
drawn from a number of archival and contemporary sources, together with a
carefully researched text. He also describes the social and religious
traditions that make the community unique, the impact of many forced
emigrations and Mennonite life today. This lavishly illustrated history of the
Mennonites in Canada presents over 180 photographs that vividly depict their
lives from early times to the present day. Brandon Sun
